If you have ever dreamed for a beautiful place that served the best of the best in terms of brunch, then the award-winning Bottega Louie is the place for you. Last week I had the opportunity to try Bottega Louie, located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles. This exquisite, grand dining joint serves and has been in operation since 2009. Located in the historic Brockman Building, Bottega Louie is 255-seat restaurant, gourmet market, patisserie and cafe with full bar service available. Macaroons, an extremely popular offering in their gourmet market, help contribute to Bottega Louie’s popularity.
The inside of the restaurant reminded me of a magnificent palace dedicated to the best of the best in terms of food. Simply put, Bottega Louie is one of the best all-around dining experiences I have ever had period. I experienced top notch service with excellent manners from each one of their personnels. I was able to try the following selections: Italian Scramble, Smoked Salmon Benedict, Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, Mimosa, and orange juice. Premium water, which includes still and sparkling water, are complimentary.
Italian Scramble ($14)
The Italian Scramble features Italian sausage, onions, bell peppers, bocconcini, soppressata, Yukon Gold potatoes, vince ripened cherry tomatoes and parmesan cheese. Although at first glance this selection might seem small in terms of portion size, the Italian Scramble will fill you up with its tasty combination.
Smoked Salmon Benedict ($18)
The Smoked Salmon Benedict includes poached eggs, smoked wild salmon, creme fraiche, red onions, sautéed greens, and hollandaise sauce on a potato pancake. This dish is the most popular item on the menu and after tasting this I can definitely see why. The eggs were fluffy, created to perfection, and were a delight to eat. Add in potatoes and salmon that is smoked to perfection and you will see why this is a hit.
Lemon Ricotta Pancakes ($14)
Another marvelous offering, the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, are created just right for any pancake fan. The addition of blueberries are a huge plus. These pancakes are infused with lemon and ricotta cheese served with house made blueberry syrup. The blueberry syrup hugely enhances the tasting experience for these pancakes.
Mimosa and Orange Juice (Mimosa: $13, Orange Juice: $6)
Mimosa was not too shabby but the orange juice is just flat out delicious and superb in every way.
