You Can Now Explore Middle Earth On Google Maps

With Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug out in less than 2 weeks, what better way to prepare for the sure-fire blockbuster than by familiarizing yourself with Middle Earth? You can now explore Middle Earth from the comforts of your home. To celebrate the flick’s December 13 theatrical release, Google and Warner Bros. have teamed up for this awesome movie tie-in. This new interactive map (part of Google’s new Chrome Experience) provides extensive information about Middle Earth’s geography. Users can click on specific locations (such as Rivendell or Trollshaw Forrest) to discover bonus content and play games while a charming soundtrack plays in the background.
